The Inn at Castle Rock, Old Bisbee, Arizona

Welcome to The Inn at Castle Rock, a beautiful, eclectic hotel in the middle of Old Bisbee, located at the foot of Castle Rock, gateway to Tombstone Canyon. This 1895 historic hotel is also home to the historic Apache Springs Well.

New owners Carol and Chris Brown have been restoring and renovating the hotel starting August of 2009. The hotel walls are filled with paintings by the previous owner—Jim Babcock—and friends. The back yard is an acre of steep ivy covered hills with tiled trails, gazebos, and fruit trees.

There are 14 uniquely themed rooms, a space previously used as a restaurant which is home for the well, and a beautiful wood framed meeting/reception room available for parties, weddings, yoga and exercise. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, Main St. shopping and downtown activities.

APACHE SPRINGS WELL

In 1877, while stopping at a spring Apache Indians had shown to the Cavalry and miners at the bottom of Castle Rock, Lieutenant Rucker and Jack Dunn, a civilian tracker, found a faint green stain on the hillside, which indicated the presence of lead, copper, and perhaps silver.

Ask to see The Apache Springs Well on our lower level.

Soon after, a mine shaft was built on site. The spring flowed into the shaft, transforming mine shaft into the Apache Springs Well. In 1895 a boarding house—now The Inn at Castle Rock—was built over the spring.

OCCASIONS

The hotel offers a wood framed Octagon room with large windows and tall angled walls and ceiling available for special occasions. The room is available for rent and used for yoga, exercise classes, and weddings as well as a nice place for guests to use outside of their room.
